Short and To-the-Point

The other day, something occurred to me: every single questionnaire I've ever received has not only been from a woman, but obviously written by one too. I'm not a misogynist (I can hardly even spell "misogynist"), but there are obviously fundamental differences in the way men and women communicate. In that vein, I have created my answer to Brent's Anti-Chain Letter: Thad "X" Boyd's Short and To-the-Point Questionnaire.

Fixed the use of the working title Concise Questionnaire at the end of my Short and To-the-Point Questionnaire.

No, Honestly, I Have Been Busy.

I've finally decided to let you know what I've been spending six hours or more a day on lately. Check out my new Tempe High: The Zelda Quest page.

How Come Nobody Else Has Done It?

Being unclear on the names of a few enemies in Zelda (oh, come on, like you remembered what a Lanmola was), I went looking for a chart that would show all the enemies with pictures. I couldn't find one. All I found were polls showing that most people like The Ocarina of Time best of the series. In other words, yet another Web search failed to yield anything but a bunch of proof that people are fucking idiots.

Anyway, not finding one anywhere else, I created a Zelda Bestiary myself and added it to my Tempe High: The Zelda Quest area.

(My favorite Zelda? A Link to the Past. 3D worked for Mario, but not Link.)

Four of Two

It's four minutes of two (AM; while this is technically the 17th, I define the passage of a date based on my sleeping patterns), Brad and Luke (currently vying for the position of Holy Trinity Member #5; Brad says he's already a member but Brad also says I'm from Prescott and has red links on an orange background) have just finished wrestling in the middle of my living room and hallway; I should be in bed, reading Harry Potter, or playing Beast Wars; but I really don't want another dual archive because I didn't update my page but once in July.

I got fuckin' screwed (heh heh...fuckin' screwed) in Suikoden 2.

Brent thinks he's Sharkey.

Steve doesn't check his pages before uploading them.

I'm tired.

I should be reading Harry Potter or playing Beast Wars.

I'm considering tossing together a How I Spent My Summer Vacation page. But I probably won't.

I wonder if The Misadventures of Tron Bonne is any good...

I'm Going to Miss This Sweltering Hellhole.

Something has just occurred to me.

I only have three more Saturday nights before I move to Flagstaff.

Also, I just went to Rocky Horror for the first time since June 10. Lisa declared me the man and said they missed me. Now, to some of you that might seem mildly creepy, but I'm reasonably sentimental about that. I guess once you show up twenty times or so (or make a guest appearance in the cast), they remember your face.

I haven't been going because I've been worried about cash. $5 a week ain't so bad when you're still not paying for your own food or comic books, but soon I will be. Dammit. And I've blown...what? Let's see...eight times at six dollars, fourteen times at five, minus two I was comped...that's $108 I've thrown down for what the kids are calling "The Picture Show".

Although I don't s'pose $108 in a year and a half is that much...

At any rate, I'm now in a bit of a quandary: three more Saturday nights to go to Rocky before I go to Flagstaff; three more Saturday nights to hang out with my girlfriend before I go to Flagstaff. ...Of course, if Target keeps giving Ruth the hours they've been, it might be three more Saturdays like tonight, where she's gotta get up at 6:30 anyway, so I'm not really missing out on her if I go to a midnight movie.

And if not...hell, she might go to one or two.

But hell...it's not like I'm not going to be coming back down to Tempe or anything. What's a little three-hour (one way) drive every weekend? And of course I'll probably spend December here...

All this to say...I've had more Mountain Dew than I probably should've, but I don't want to do anything incredibly silly like work on ZQuest, cuz then it'll be 6 AM before I know it.

I'll probably toss up a second demo with my next update. Probably. But it'll also prob'ly be the last demo; the next'll be the whole deal.

Games: I got royally screwed at the end of Suikoden 2...I fulfilled all the criteria for the best ending, but for some reason I can't get it. No FAQ explains such a discrepancy. You'd think somebody else besides me would've had this problem...

Rented Beast Wars: Transmetals. It kicks ass. ...Okay, so it's not that great a game, but it has really cool movie sequences with the voice actors from the cartoon (well, except Rhinox).

Books: Jeez, The Sirens of Titan was depressing as all hell. Now I'm engaged in my first ever college assignment, Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. ...What's left of it, anyway. It got soaked pretty badly on my recent river trip.

Books: Harry Potter: The Goblet of Fire. Okay, so it's trendy. Occasionally, a trend comes along that kicks ass.

Games: Nothing. Unless you count repeatedly testing my Zelda demos...

Books: Nothing. Finished Harry Potter, haven't found anything else yet. Sadly, this means I'm likely to devote even more time to ZQuest.
